Date: Tuesday, April 30th, 2024
Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: MNO Timmins Boardroom, 347 Spruce Street South, Timmins
Description: Honouring missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls (MMIWG). Red Dress Day was inspired in 2010 by Jamie Black, a Métis artist based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Red Dress Day, first observed in 2010, happens every May 5. The goal of the day is to honour and bring awareness to the thousands of Indigenous women and girls, and two-spirit people who have gone missing or who have been murdered.
This workshop is suitable for all beading skill levels. Working with leather and learning edge beading techniques, participants will create a red dress pin to be worn or gifted.
